Berries Up Close

I bought a new lens with macro capabilities and was dying to try it out, so I went in my back yard and starting looking around. Now, if there is one thing you should know about me it is this: I am NOT a gardener! The only thing growing in my preexisting garden areas are things that got there on their own. I have a cotton plant (no joke) and then there is this most amazing 3 feet tall weed with beautiful dangling berries. The colors of the berries; hot pink stem, vibrant green new berries, and deep purple ripened berries; was irresistible so I took my new camera on over and took a few shots. I love the colors, and think this set of three will make nice home decor for my kitchen!

I met a very energetic little boy this week. Ben turned one and his mother wanted to keep this memorable moment forever. We took him to Bee Tree Park and let him run loose! He loved stopping for rocks, leaves and more. I almost had to run to keep up with him, I wish I could bottle it up! The favorites capture his boyish smile, and his beautiful blue eyes!!

Last week I had the great pleasure of photographing one of my newest families. Little Avery just turned three months and we have begun his "First Year" series. Everyone in the family is beautiful and photogenic, and I had such a great time getting this little man to coo and smile. His sister loves chocolate milk, so instead of saying "chesse" we all said "chocolate milk"! Here are just a few of my favorites, and I cannot wait to see him more as he grows throughout the year!

Mr Dylan - Saint Louis Newborn Photography

I am so excited to show these photos. Sydney contacted me about a month and a half ago and asked me to do her son's newborn photos in her hospital room. Of course I said yes! Dylan was born on Sept 7, and I had the pleasure of meeting him in person on Sept 9. These are some of my favorites from the session yesterday. It was very hard for me choose these because Dylan is so cute, and Sydney herself is an absolutely stunning new mother!

Must be willing to wear boudoir-esque clothing, allow me total creative control, and willing to allow any or all photos to be used for marketing purposing. Will have hair and makeup done and a free photo session with 1 free 11x14 printed for them. Stretch marks will be erased if you have any. The Most Wonderful Lorelei - Saint Louis Child Photographer

I am always taking pictures, but never of my own family! It seems I always have time for everyone else. NO MORE!! Today was beautiful, and my baby girl was even more breathtaking! Lorelei is about to turn 5, going to be a big sister, and deserves to be showcased!!

Mark and I took a 3 hour excursion at Shaw Nature Center and allowed Lorelei to pretend to be "Alice" for the day. She loved winding in and out of the wild flowers, following the shaded paths and discovering all kinds of fun! Here are some of my favorites! Though, out of 260 photos taken, I chose 115 worthy of printing!! And that was making hard cuts!!

I have had the great pleasure of photographing my cousins' beautiful children Jilly and "Bobert" for the past year now and it has been fun every time! They are great in front of the camera, always smiling on cue and giving me great "face".

Last week this family of four became a family of five when baby Nicolas was born. Of course I couldn't wait to get my hands on him, or my lips for that matter! Good thing they are family!

Want to know the coolest thing about having a best friend for 17 years? You become a part of her family, and hers become a part of yours. Her parents become your parents, and her siblings become your siblings as well.

Yesterday I had the amazing opportunity to not only watch my best friends' little sister get married, but I got to chronicle the whole day with my photography. I got to share in every moment and although I did cry a lot, they were all proud tears.

Picture Worth A Thousand Words

Last week I took a picture without any lights, no special set up, and no outfit changes but it was one of the most moving photographs I have ever taken. In fact, the recipient of the photograph was speechless!

Angie called me at 10:30PM on Sept. 27 and let me know that she and Jason were heading to the hospital, it was time. I arrived at the hospital at 4 in the morning and spent the next 12 hours watching the rise and fall of contractions, joyous look from visitors, and the most amazing miracle in the birth of their son, Boyer.

Labor and Delivery Photography

My first clients, A & J, are due this week, and I couldn't be more excited. The last update I got from A was that she was 3 cm dilated, and 50% effaced so her doctors said she could go at anytime. I have had my phone on day and night, just waiting for her text that she is headed to the hospital. I have my camera charged, packed and ready to go at a minutes notice. I will update you all with pictures and details once we get finished!
